Out and Back
The appendix came out, I left the hospital for a couple of days, and on Sunday found myself right back on the 10th floor. I just can't seem to get enough of this place. We're not really sure what the cause is, but I was feeling pretty sick on Sunday afternoon. And so I find myself on my third day in the hospital surviving on a steady diet of Jello and Gatorade. They call it a clear liquid diet, and it's designed to give my innards a break while all the antibiotics work their magic. As you can imagine, it's pretty tough to only eat jello, and I'm pretty hungry most of the time. But if it gets me out of here anytime soon I'm game to give it a try. I'm hoping the end of this whole ordeal is in sight.

PATRICK!
ReplyDeleteSo after months of trying to remember how to spell your name, I found your blog. I suppose I could have looked at your cube name tag, your Outlook account, one of your emails, or asked any co-worker within a 10 mile radius... Glad to know my mind was up to the task.
Get well soon buddy. I hope to see you around before too long.
Megatron out.

Hi Patrick,
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that you've had to deal with so much with your appendix! Jello and gatorade would not be my favorite diet either. Keep hanging in there and I hope you will be well soon. I always keep you and your family in my prayers.
We miss you and look forward to seeing you!

I'd recognize that mug anywhere! I thought of you today with the new Star Trek movie coming out. Remember: 7th grade on the school bus with you saying "beam me up, Scotty" while the "cool" 8th graders picked on us. That and the high tech dot-matrix communications from Voltron, Defender of the Universe.
ReplyDeleteI just looked you up, so I haven't read all about your illness yet. I hope this finds you well. I would like to get in on the photos of your family and try to connect after all these years. Not sure how to reach you, but hope this comment will show up in your e-mail. I'll try to get to you through Facebook.
