Friday and today were uneventful. I'm still swollen and red, but I'm beginning to feel as though I'm getting past the side effects of the radiation. I had a killer headache today, which afforded me the chance to sleep in a little bit and just take it easy. The doc ordered a CT scan to be sure the headache, which has been recurrent since I arrived, isn't related to something larger.
I've been able to ride the stationary bike every day, so to those who are wondering, you can get exercise in the hospital - you just have to put up with a certain lack of scenery.
I also took a picture of some the inspirational artwork we have in the corridor. It cracks me up every time I walk by it. I had to share, since I can't be the only one who appreciates the humor of it :)
Duh - the Mosiac of Hope is a hoot. Can just see you looking at it and going - what?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you are still experiencing the headaches, are they doing spinal taps again on you or do you think it is more due to the radiation or drugs you are taking? Appreciate the update and can't wait to actually speak with you again.
Take care and keep on blogging.

Oh wow -- someone really got the tasks in the wrong order on the project plan for that mosaic. First, put up the mosaic, and then put up the signage! Doh!
ReplyDeleteHope your headaches will stop soon. Take care!
The Mosaic looks an awful lot like Metallica's Black album, or one of those postcards such as "Richmond at Night" etc. Maybe a work in progress :)
ReplyDeleteHope the headaches disappear soon!

ha ha ha, that "inspirational" mosaic could definitely use some work. Maybe you should get the girls to make you pictures and start tacking them up to it :) And while they are at it, get them to draw you some scenery for when you are riding the bike. :)

Patrick -
ReplyDeleteJust wanted you to know I was thinking about you often and following the blog from time to time. Hope the headaches subside. We miss you here and sure could use you. Keep posting as everyone wants to know how you are doing. Not sure if you can always feel the positive energy that flows from here to Richmond - but I assure you - it's there.
Happy Birthday!
